The flame immediately flew in the pan after the sale of the home of suspect Richard K. to his later victims Sam and Ineke. That became clear during the court case about the double murder on January 16 last year in Weiteveen. Within one month after the sale of the home, the conflict between the two parties had already risen so high that a normal conversation was no longer possible.

Richard K. is in court today because of the murder of the two buyers of his home. K. killed his victims, Sam and Ineke, with fire and stab weapons. According to his victims, there would have been hidden defects in the home.

On February 18, just over a month after the purchase, it already came to a hard confrontation between K. and Sam. On that day, K. plays a game of billiards with his son in the mancave who is located in the shed opposite the home sold. The shed and the surrounding plot were not included in the purchase. K. wanted to keep that location for his children, among other things. “A place where they could ride a horse,” explains K. during the session.

“I saw him (SAM) coming. Perhaps he was under the influence. Because he came over quite wildly. It was immediately sawing of thick wood,” K says during the session. According to K., Sam got a story about the floor in the home sold. Because it was not right.

According to K., that fact was known and there was a pointed at the viewing, after inspection and the day of delivery. “The floor was no problem, because he (Sam) restored homes. He would tackle it,” explains K..

But according to Sam and Ineke, K. would have withheld things. The reason why Sam, according to K., came to visit him at the shed. “I was immediately called a liar,” said KK proposes to do it himself and I also want to give Sam 1000 euros to get the job done. “Not because we have to, but we are neighbors of each other and I want to do it neatly.”

According to K., that was the first time that there was talk about the alleged defect. But according to him, the tone was immediately hard. Both men make recordings with their phone from the confrontation. “Big words are used,” the judge said. “Sam says you have lied, you say you are completely done with it. How can it get out of hand so quickly?”, The judge asks K.

“I have asked myself that,” says K. “I don’t get it. I don’t get it. I don’t understand why we couldn’t sit around the table together.” According to him, he did make mediation attempts, but, according to him, Sam and Ineke soon sought the legal path. Which meant even more oil on the fire.

What K. especially stabs is that there would be anything and everything wrong with the house. Because, according to K., the house means a lot to him. He was born there, his father died there and lived with his family. Tons of tons were stabbed in the house.

In 2022, K. finally decided to sell the house after a Tia. He has had brain bleeding before, he reports. His health is therefore the reason to get rid of the house. “Because I couldn’t take care of it anymore.” And that is also the reason why the floor has never been finished well, he says.

The decision to sell is difficult for him. According to the new residents, in addition to the floor, everything is wrong with the home, then that will be extra hard, according to K. that also influenced the fueling of the conflict. “At some point you will be sucked so far, then that is the only thing there is.”
