Vice-champion Munich has overthrown ERC Ingolstadt from the top of the table in the German Ice Hockey League. After beating newcomers Löwen Frankfurt 3-4, Bayern Munich beat their neighbors, who had previously won three times in a row, 3-1 (1-0, 0-0, 2-1) in the top game.

On Sunday afternoon, the German champions Eisbären Berlin won against Düsseldorfer EG 5-2 (3-1, 0-1, 2-0). Matt White scored twice, while Peter Regin, Zach Boychuk and Giovanni Fiore also scored for the capitals.

The Berliners showed themselves to be improved on the offensive compared to the previous games and got all three points for the first time this season.

Balanced game until the final phase

The 9,687 spectators in the arena at Ostbahnhof saw a balanced game from the start with a few scoring opportunities for both sides. The capitals had to worry about success until the final section, before White calmed their nerves with his second goal.

45 seconds before the end of the game, Fiore made the final decision when Düsseldorf’s goalie Hendrik Hane went off the ice in favor of an additional field player.
