A very serious accident took place on the N50 between Ens and Kampen on Wednesday evening around 9 p.m. It went wrong just before the Eilandbrug near Kampen. Two cars collided head-on and one of the vehicles caught fire.
There have been several casualties. Police have not yet released any information about the condition of the victims.
The collision was preceded by a police chase in connection with a violent incident in Bedum in Groningen. The suspect fled there. This is reported by the police to Omroep Flevoland.
Police are investigating the exact cause of the accident. The road is currently closed to traffic in both directions. A police helicopter hovered over the site of the accident near the city of Overijssel for some time.
