Mukiele to FC Bayern? That’s what Christoph Freund says

FC Bayern probably wants to bring in another defender in the winter after signing Eric Dier. Nordi Mukiele from Paris Saint-Germain is considered a hot candidate. Even sports director Christoph Freund likes the player.

“We’ll see what else the squad might need. Basically, I won’t go into names, but basically Nordi is a type of player who can of course play at the back right. He’s definitely not an uninteresting type of player,” the Bayern official admitted meaningfully Conversation with “Bild”.

The rumors about a possible move for the flexible defensive player to Munich had previously made waves in the media. However, there is still a problem with the specific details.

The “kicker” and French media reported this week that FC Bayern would like to loan Mukiele in the winter. PSG is reportedly willing to do so, but is demanding a purchase obligation for the summer.

FC Bayern are undermanned in defense

FC Bayern, on the other hand, would like to simply include a purchase option in Mukiele’s loan contract and would thus have more freedom in personnel planning after the season.

According to the Munich-based company’s wishes, the clause should be between 20 and 25 million euros. PSG once only paid twelve million euros to his former club RB Leipzig for Mukiele in the summer of 2022.

But even if FC Bayern reached a financial agreement with PSG in the Mukiele case, a deal could still fall through. Ultimately, the top French club probably only wants to give up the defender if they get a replacement first. Otherwise the transfer could fall through.

There is currently a tense defensive situation in Munich. Since Minjae Kim (Asian Cup with South Korea) and Noussair Mazraoui (Africa Cup with Morocco) will not be available in January, the already thin staff will be put to the test.
