Former Miss Finland Sarah Dzafce, who lost her crown, tells MTV Tomorrow Finland program in an interview that he had received death threats as a result of his racism.

– Numerous. And not only for me but also for my loved ones, says Dzafce in the live broadcast on Friday morning.

Dzafce says they have reported the threats to the police.

Hate messages started flooding in after Dzafce got into the middle of a racism scandal at the end of last year and lost her Miss crown.

– My inbox and comment field were filled with threats from all over the world, including messages from my family members.

The uproar spread worldwide. Dzafce’s eye-stretching photos and the reactions of Finnish politicians were reported in China, among others.

Dzafce says that he has not considered the hate messages he received particularly threatening, because he does not know from where in the world the comments are left and how serious the threats are.

– Everything was reported to the police. Of course, it scared me a little, but I don’t want to live in fear.

Dzafce commented in an interview with Huomenta Suomen that she earned more during the uproar than as the reigning Miss Finland. Dzafce also talked about it in an episode of the Pinnalla podcast that appeared earlier this week.

– After the commotion, I have invoiced the largest sums that I have ever invoiced. Four-figure sums, Dzafce said on the podcast.

At the end of last year, a photo of Dzafce began to spread on social media, in which he stretched his eyes crookedly with his fingers. The text “eating with the Chinese” was written on the picture. Dzafce justified his position by saying that he had tried to ease the headache he was suffering from.

Social media interpreted Dzafce as mocking Asians. On December 11, it was announced that Dzafce has lost her Miss crown. After this, many Finnish politicians defended Dzafc and published their own eye-stretching photos on social media.

2012 Miss Finland Sara Chafak told Iltalehte earlier this spring that he also got his share of the uproar directed at Dzafcee, although he was not involved in the case in any way. Chafak’s social media accounts were filled with hate messages and Chafak also received death threats. Chafak had to remind people in her Instagram post that she was not Sarah Dzafce. In the end, it turned out that a South Korean news site had mistakenly linked Chafak’s Instagram account to a news story about racism.

– I feel really bad for Sarah, because she is young and has just entered this public world. This is really drastic and the cancel culture has gotten out of hand, Chafak commented to Iltalehte.
