With the Vancouver Whitecaps, Thomas Müller meets Inter Miami in the MLS final. His wife will probably not be there – but other family members will be.
Thomas Müller is about to have a big coup with the Vancouver Whitecaps: The ex-Bayern star and the Canadians will meet Inter Miami with superstar Lionel Messi in the MLS final on Saturday. Müller could win the championship title in North America with Vancouver in his first season.
At the final in Florida, the 36-year-old apparently has to do without the support of an important person. As the “Bild” newspaper reports, wife Lisa Müller will not be at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. Accordingly, the dressage rider herself has sporting obligations and will be competing at the “Amadeus Horse Indoors”, a tournament in Salzburg, at the weekend.
But Müller can apparently still rely on family support. According to the report, his father Gerhard and his brother Simon will watch the game in the stadium. However, Müller apparently does not receive many tickets for his relatives for the first final in the club’s history. Each professional only gets four tickets for family and friends.
Müller moved to Vancouver in August after 25 years at FC Bayern. The offensive player made an immediate impact with the Whitecaps, scoring nine goals and setting up four more in twelve games for his new employer. Müller now leads his team onto the field as captain.
The ex-national player already showed his anticipation for the final on LinkedIn. “Who would have thought that four months ago when I set off for Vancouver,” Müller wrote there. “What a successful and incredibly beautiful ride it has been so far. And now we want to reward ourselves and the fans of Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the final.”
