Municipal taxes in Brabant are increasing this year and that will mainly make motorists. For example, this year the municipality of Breda wants to earn 7 million euros more with the collection of parking fees, according to a study by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS).
This year, the Brabant motorist has to pull the wallet more often with parking. Almost all Brabant municipalities want to earn more money from their parking policy this year, concludes Statistics Netherlands in a study into municipal rates. For example, Eindhoven hopes to rake 2.9 million euros more in, Tilburg wants to earn 1.8 million extra and Den Bosch is counting on an extra 1.1 million euros more in the drawer.
Paid parking zones
The municipality of Breda takes the crown in Brabant with an expected extra 7 million euros in income from paid parking. Earlier this year, the municipality already indicated to the parking zones in the city. For example, from this year in various neighborhoods around the city center such as Tuindorp, Haagpoort and Doornbos to put the car. The rates in different places are also higher.

More income
In the whole of the Netherlands, municipalities expect to be able to collect more money from taxes this year, a total of 8 percent more than last year. Not only parking becomes more expensive, but also the moving business tax (OZB) and sewerage taxes rise in some municipalities.
That the municipalities are screwing up the OBZ taxes and the parking fee for a reason. The proceeds from those taxes go to the pot of general resources. That means that the municipality can spend the money on the things they want. The proceeds do not have to be spent on, for example, traffic and transport, but can also go to a municipal project, for example.
