Motorist who rammed into shop front reports to police: man had been drinking

The driver of the van that rammed into the front of a store in Udenhout on Sunday morning has reported to the police. It concerns a 25-year-old man from Vlijmen. He admitted that he had been drinking, police said on Sunday afternoon.

A breath analysis showed that the man had been drinking. The driver’s license has been recovered.

The driver of the Caddy drove into the shop front of Nieuwenhuizen Natuursteen on the corner of Kreitmolenstraat and Handelsweg around a quarter past seven on Sunday morning. The van rammed into a fence and a large flower box before coming to rest against the front.

When emergency services arrived, the driver was gone. The police searched for the driver with multiple units and motorcycles.
