The motorist who hit a cyclist (76) on Groenstraat in Tilburg on Tuesday morning and left injured, reported to the police on Wednesday. Earlier, the police made an urgent appeal to the driver to come forward. It was not yet clear at the time that it was a woman.
The accident happened around 10 a.m. Tuesday morning. The cyclist was probably hit while overtaking and slammed to the ground. She had to be taken to hospital after the accident.
The motorist left the 76-year-old victim behind and ran off in the direction of Ringbaan South. Police are still investigating what exactly happened. A statement from the driver is included.
