A motorist was arrested on Monday evening after he drove into a house in Breda. The accident happened at the intersection of Haagweg and Tuinzigtlaan. Instead of turning, the driver drove straight ahead.
The devastation is enormous. Part of the living room of the house was badly damaged and partially collapsed. Firefighters tried to make the situation safe at night by shoring up the house.
It was not the first time that the house was damaged in an accident at the intersection.
It is not known what caused the accident. The police are investigating the circumstances.
The road was temporarily closed to traffic so that emergency services could do their work safely. After the fire brigade had pulled the car free from the facade, the car was towed away by a tow truck.
