The driver of a car died tonight in a single-vehicle accident on the Hunzelaan between Gasselte and Gasselternijveen. A second passenger was injured and taken to hospital.
The car crashed into a tree and the car caught fire. An air ambulance was also called in to provide assistance.
The cause of the accident is not yet known. The police are investigating.
