Two cyclists were seriously injured in a collision in Eindhoven on Saturday morning. They were hit by a motorist, who then crashed his car and drove off.
The victims are a man and a woman. One of them was seriously injured, the other was taken to a specialist hospital for serious injuries.
The driver continued to drive after the accident. He then flipped over with his car and came to a stop against a lamppost. He then fled on foot. He was also believed to have been injured, police said.
“We are still looking for the driver,” a spokesperson said after reporting from the Eindhovens Dagblad. Police say they have an idea who the suspect might be.
The collision took place around 4.30 am at the intersection of Sint Lambertusstraat and Mecklenburgstraat. There are debris all over the intersection. “The road has been closed, the investigation will take some time,” said the spokesperson.
