Yesterday, the police arrested a motorist in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel who used laughing gas while driving.
Enforcement officers who saw the man sucking on a balloon while driving decided to call the police. He soon spotted the car and signaled the driver to stop.
The police found ten cylinders of laughing gas in the car. The driver appeared to have filled a balloon shortly before, because during the check he continued to use laughing gas, the police wrote on Instagram.

The man has been arrested for drug possession. Since January 1, 2023 the possession and use of laughing gas is prohibited, because the substance has since been on the Opium List.
