‘This is not a haste, not an error of judgment, but a speed at which you seriously endanger yourself and others.’ The police in Apeldoorn have nothing good to say about the actions of a 24-year-old man. He tore through Apeldoorn at 180 kilometers per hour.

That happened on the night from Sunday to Monday on the Oost-Veluweweg. This is the connecting road from the Apeldoorn-Noord exit (A50) towards the city. The driver stepped on the accelerator shortly after midnight.

Unfortunately for him, police officers recorded his dizzying speed.

The limit on this road is 80 kilometers per hour, the officers clocked it at 180. The man was pulled over and had to immediately surrender his driver’s license. Moreover, he now has a criminal record.

The amount of the fine is up to the public prosecutor. These types of huge excesses usually amount to thousands of euros. He has also been registered with the Central Bureau for Driving Skills for a mandatory course. He will have to pay for that himself.

It was the second time in a short time for the Apeldoorn officers to catch someone who was driving so fast. On Saturday, a 19-year-old Apeldoorn raced at 178 kilometers per hour along the Amersfoortseweg (N344). There too, 80 is the limit.

“Apparently the message had not yet reached everyone…,” the officers concluded on Instagram. ‘How hard can you think behind the wheel?’
