A 33-year-old motorcyclist died on Tuesday morning after a head-on collision with a box truck on the Zevenbergseweg (N389) in Etten-Leur. The victim was seriously injured and eventually died on the spot from his injuries.
The accident was reported to the emergency center shortly after 8 a.m. Several ambulances, the fire brigade, police and an air ambulance were called. The victim was resuscitated for some time, but to no avail. His family has been informed by the emergency services.
The road is closed in both directions from Etten-Leur for a police investigation. The adjacent cycle path is also closed in both directions. The vehicles are both severely damaged and will be removed later.
There was also a car on the side of the road. The driver had nothing to do with the accident and probably stopped after seeing the accident. In addition to this driver, several other people witnessed the violent incident. “This can have a very drastic impact on you,” says a police spokesperson. “Victim support is available for people who saw the accident.”
