Data from the Ministry of Transport confirm the growth of the two-wheeled market. Scooters lead in absolute terms, but motorbikes are growing more proportionately
In a year that has been complicated for the world of motors, 2024, the numbers regarding registrations of motorbikes and scooters in Italy represent a positive note. Sales, according to what was reported by the Ministry of Transport (data processed by Ancma), have in fact grown quite a bit: in total we are talking about a +10.70%. Which in absolute terms means going from 318,955 registrations in 2023 to 353,093 in the year just ended. Going into specifics, the best numbers ever were recorded by scooters (186,639 registrations, +7.54%), while motorbikes do better in proportion: 166,454 total units, with a growth of 14.48%.

Therefore, more and more Italians are choosing to buy scooters or motorbikes. A question of practicality in the city, but not only: the passion for two-wheeled travel is in fact hard to die. Furthermore, with the new Highway Code, 125 cc can circulate on the motorway, a factor that can further stimulate the market for models that are already in high demand. The ones in charge of sales are the scooterall of which occupy the top five positions in terms of registrations. The podium is made up of three Asian models: first place for the Honda SH 125 (15,027 units sold), second for the SH 150 (11,980) and third for the Kymco Agility 125 R16 (9,004). The first bike, specifically Enduro, is in sixth position: it is the Benelli Trk 702 (7,344).
