Over the years, Zuidwolde has been the hometown of many musicians. This also applies to the Hardrocktrio Bad Standing. The village brought them together and the music keeps them together.
At the end of last year the band came with the debut album Brainwashed And the men were very satisfied with that. “Certainly,” said the singer and guitarist Lenny Veldman full and enthusiastic. “A nice album.” Bad Standing treats the listeners of the album on an album full of classic hard rock. “A bit of the stronger, fast music,” adds bass player Dion Hillen. “Rock ‘n’ roll as it used to be.”
It is not the first album for Bad Standing. In the middle of the Coronapandemie the men already came with an EP. The corona measures have more or less smothered the success of this. “You were not allowed to play anywhere,” Veldman explains. They have caught up with the damage. “In recent years, playing, playing, playing,” he says.
‘Bad Standing’ is a term from the world of motorcycle clubs, when a member is unpleasant out of the club. “Most of the performances we do is for motorcycle clubs. They just love it. They just love rugged, tasty no-nonsense music,” says the singer. “Well, and the name that fits perfectly, isn’t it?”
The motorcycle clubs can also appreciate the band’s own songs. “We still play mixed covers with our own songs, but in the end the goal is to make more own songs and continue on that,” says the bassist.
