Great pole for Enea Bastianini in the MotoGP Austrian GP. The Rimini rider of Ducati Gresini roars at the Red Bull Ring, breaks the ice by winning his first career pole in the top class, and precedes Pecco Bagnaia for an Italian double in the front row. With a time of 1: 28.772 the ‘Bestia’ gives an important signal on its potential, also reaffirming the supremacy of Borgo Panigale on this track: in fact, four Desmosedici are in the first 4 places on the grid. Pecco Bagnaia, also author of a straight at the new chicane after crashing in Free 4, bows for 24 thousandths and the front row is closed by Jack Miller, third at 0.109. The world leader, Fabio Quartararo, limits the damage to a great extent, with a good 5th place at 0.231 with the Yamaha in the Ducati Pramac sandwich: Jorge Martin is in fact fourth (0.186) and Johann Zarco sixth (0.274).

the top-10

Completing the top 10, in order: 7. Maverick Vinales with the first Aprilia (+0.363); 8. Joan Mir with Suzuki (+0.483); 9. Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia) at 0.483 ahead of Fabio Di Giannantonio (Gresini team) at 0.564, both promoted from Q1. Diggia thus brings Ducatis to six in the top ten places on the grid: almost a single-make, confirming that the new variant at turn 2 has not minimized the supremacy that Borgo Panigale has shown on this track in recent years. To complete the fourth row, here are 11. Alex Rins (Suzuki) and 12. Brad Binder with Ktm.

so the q1

Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati VR46), also crashed in Q1 together with Alex Marquez, but without contact between the two; 24.
