Aprilia gives wings in the second Free Practice session in Montmelò, home to the Catalan GP of the MotoGP. With a remarkable one-two, the Noale house monopolizes FP2 on the Catalan track, showing a state of remarkable form. In front is home idol Aleix Espargaro, who in 1: 39.402 precedes his teammate Maverick Vinales, second at 0.303. Great performance was shown by Aprilia, which on a track with a precarious grip and a strong deterioration of the rubber at the distance, proves to have started on the right foot.

In the second session the Ducati also rises: if in FP1 only Bastianini was tenth, in FP2 Borgo Panigale places five Desmosedici in the Top 10, with Enea Bastianini (Gresini) third at +0.488, Francesco Bagnaia fourth at 0.548, Jorge Martin ( Pramac) fifth at +0.587, Jack Miller seventh at 0.693 and Johann Zarco (Pramac) tenth at 0.772.

In the afternoon also: 6. Brad Binder (Ktm, +0.681); 7. the world leader Fabio Quartararo, freshly renewed in Yamaha (+0.721) and the Suzuki of Alex Rins, eighth at 0.724, who was the fastest in the morning and who did not improve his time in the afternoon. Franco Morbidelli, 10th, also entered the momentary Q2, based on the combined times, who had distinguished himself with the third fastest time in the morning.

In the afternoon session the Honda that had three bikes in the first 7 places in the morning disappeared: the best RC213V is eleventh with Pol Espargaro. These are the positions of the Italians in the combined times: 13. Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati Gresini) preceding the two Desmosedici VR46 of Marco Bezzecchi and Luca Marini, also author of a misunderstanding with Bagnaia; 21 Andrea Dovizioso (Yamaha RNF) and 22.
