Mother Jeroen van Merwijk (90) debuts with book with illustrations by deceased son | show

This has been announced by Tam Tam publishing house. The more than twenty illustrations that Jeroen van Merwijk made for the book have never been published before. Comedian Diederik van Vleuten also contributed to the book.

Jeroen died in March 2021 at the age of 65 from the consequences of colon cancer. The comedian has made theater programs, songs and conferences for more than thirty years. He wrote lyrics for artists such as Hans Dorrestijn, Adèle Bloemendaal, Karin Bloemen and Erik van Muiswinkel. For his song Boys like that he received the Annie MG Schmidt Prize in 2006.

In addition to his theater work, Van Merwijk was above all a visual artist. He exhibited at home and abroad under his own name and under the pseudonym Malfet.
