A woman (35), her baby and her young children aged 4, 7 and 10 have been found murdered in the French city of Meaux. The perpetrator is the “mentally fragile” father (33) of the family. He was arrested this morning in Sevran and has since been arrested. In 2019, he had already stabbed his wife in the shoulder blade with a knife.

At a press conference, Bladier indicated that the mother and two daughters had been seriously injured with a knife. No external injuries were found on the four-year-old boy and the nine-month-old baby. An autopsy should clarify whether they died by drowning or suffocation.
The father immediately referred to his depressive state. He is currently in hospital.
Appointment with neighbor
According to the French news channel BFM TV, the five victims are of Haitian nationality. The mother was normally supposed to spend Christmas Eve at the neighbor’s house, but she didn’t show up. “We called at 7 p.m. She said she would come as soon as her husband was home,” said Le Parisien.
There was no sign of life since then. “I thought she was too tired and that’s why she stayed home. So I didn’t insist further.”
Blood trails
However, last night the neighbor suddenly noticed traces of blood on the handle of the front door. She notified the police, who then made the gruesome discovery.
Neighbors describe the father as a “confused mind with a mental disability”. In 2019, he had also attacked his wife with a knife. The case was then closed, partly because the victim did not file a complaint.
“We knew her husband was not feeling well. He had lost his job, which, among other things, had made him depressed,” the neighbor added. The Frenchman had been undergoing treatment for depression and psychotic problems since 2017.
Meaux is located about 30 kilometers east of Paris.
