Motcrosser Jeffrey Herlings from Oploo finished second in both heats of the Grand Prix of Sweden in the MXGP on Sunday. The five -time world champion made his return two weeks ago after a broken collarbone and then became eighth over two races.

The win in Sweden was for the Frenchman Romain Febvre, who won both heats on his Kawasaki. Febvre took a big step towards the world title. His first attacker Lucas Coenen (KTM) only finished eighth. The Belgian now has 41 points behind Febvre. The Dutchman Calvin Vlaanderen (Yamaha) closed the GP of Sweden third.

The 30-year-old Herlings broke his collarbone during a training in Arnhem, early July. “I made a turn and actually just fell over. Very innocent on my side, but because of the pressure my collarbone broke. I felt that right away,” he said at the time.

Four Grands Prix will follow. This weekend is the Grand Prix of the Netherlands in Arnhem.
