During international match week, we traditionally look at the transfer market database and the most valuable non-national players worldwide – although the pending market value updates in the Bundesliga (October 14th) and the Premier League (October 17th) will still cause some movement there. In a German comparison, Finn Jeltsch (19, Stuttgart) and Vitaly Janelt (27, Brentford) have taken the top position from DFB debutant Nathaniel Brown (22, Frankfurt) with 20 million euros each since September. The subsequently nominated Freiburg goalkeeper Noah Atubolu (23) also falls out of the ranking with 18 million euros, which includes all those players who have never been called up, let alone played. (explanatory half-sentence added later)

Nicolas Kühn (25) has made a leap upwards, being raised to 17 million euros in the Serie A market value update after his move to Como in 1907. Along with Janelt, who was recently linked to Eintracht Frankfurt, Paul Wanner (19, PSV) and Merlin Röhl (23, Everton), he is one of four professionals active abroad who are among the most valuable German non-national players. This now also applies to Caspar Jander (22), who moved from Nuremberg to Southampton and was raised to 10 million euros in the championship update.

The total market value of the players pictured is 158 million euros. Each player is shown with name, club, market value and photo. The line-up includes: Goalkeeper: Urbig (Bayern Munich) - 12 million euros Defense: Rothe (Union Berlin) - 10 million euros, Chabot (VfB Stuttgart) - 12 million euros, Jeltsch (VfB Stuttgart) - 20 million euros Midfield: Knauff (Eintracht Frankfurt) - 15 million euros, Janelt (Brentford FC) - 20 million euros, Jander (Southampton FC) - 10 million euros, Röhl (FC Everton) - 12 million euros Attack: Wanner (PSV Eindhoven) - 18 million euros, Hollerbach (1. FSV Mainz 05) - 12 million euros, Kühn (Como 1907) - 17 million euros At the top of the picture there are two German flags and the Transfermarkt.de logo. The background is in shades of blue, with white lines suggesting a football field.

When the Bundesliga market values are updated, German U.S. national players such as Said El Mala (19, Cologne), Bayern talent Lennart Karl (17) or Augsburg’s Mert Kömür (20) should also be a topic for the ranking. It is currently unclear whether they could get another chance from Julian Nagelsmann with a view to the 2026 World Cup.

Most valuable non-national players internationally with ex-Bundesliga trio

Internationally, the English upper house continues to dominate, but Real summer signing Álvaro Carreras (22, Spain) has moved onto the podium with his market value jump from 35 million to 50 million euros. Only two non-national players have a higher market value worldwide: U21 European champion Ethan Nwaneri from Arsenal FC and the 19-year-old Frenchman Leny Yoro from Manchester United. Both professionals have been valued at 55 million euros since last season. However, Nwaneri could be devalued in the England market value update.

On par with Carreras is Jamie Gittens (21), who moved from Dortmund to Chelsea in the summer and is also one of the candidates for a reduction in market value. Former Bayern player Mathys Tel (20) from Tottenham Hotspur is still at the top with 35 million euros and is part of the French U21 national team again this league break. The latter no longer applies to ex-Stuttgart Enzo Millot (35 million euros), whose chances of Didier Deschamps being appointed have probably decreased for the time being after moving to Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia.
