“It was clear that I couldn’t leave this league without a red card,” said Sergio Ramos, after being put off the field in the CF Monterrey jersey. It was the 30th time that an impartisian sent the Spanish football legend early-record in the TM database. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary, Transfer market has taken a look at the Sünden card (State of the data: June 6, 2025).

Ramos is considered one of the toughest defenders in the history of football. In his career, the 39-year-old was expelled eleven times with smooth red and 19 times with yellow-red of the field. The special feature: he collected all of his positions in his 825 games at the club level in the jerseys of Real Madrid, Sevilla, PSG and Monterrey. In the national team, the record player of Spain literally looked lamb -fromm and remained without dismissal in 180 games.

Just behind Ramos, Felipe Baloy with 29 references. The 103-time national player Panama should not be a term for European football fans, after all, he played exclusively in overseas and ran for CF Monterrey and Grêmio Porto Alegre, among others. There, however, he has earned the call as a tough defender. At the club level, he was expelled 26 times of the field, three times in the Panama jersey-he saw 16 times the smooth-red card, mostly for tough.

Felipe Melo, who ended his career in 2025 and was under contract with various clubs in Europe between 2005 and 2017, in 2025, including Galatasaray, Inter Milan and Juventus Turin. The defensive midfielder collected a total of 28 references, 26 of them at the club level. In his 22 games for the national team of Brazil, it was turned out twice – including in his last international match in the 2010 World Cup against the Netherlands.

In the top 10 of most references, there are six South Americans, one Spaniard and two Germans. In sixth place is Johannes Bechmann, who ran for Schweinfurt 05 and Eintracht Bamberg, among others, and was expelled 25 times of the field. The defender did not go higher than regional league. Yellow cards: Ramos also at the front – numerous prominent names

Ramos is also the measure of all things on the yellow cards. A total of 275 times the four-time Champions League winner was warned by an impartial, including 247 times at the club level and 28 times with the national team. Felipe Melo follows with 266 warnings, followed by Fabián Cubero, legend by Vélez Sarsfield, who was already high in the references and saw yellow 252 times.

The top 10 with most yellow cards is much more prominent than that of the references. Arturo Vidal is in fourth place with 241, the sixth is Dani Alves with 237, Nintrandinho with 224 and the Spanish ex-world champion Sergio Busquets takes place with 219 warnings.
