Radio Nova’s Aamu has become Finland’s most listened to morning program among commercial radio channels. Prior to this, Radio Suomipop’s Aamulypsy was the number one listener for a long time.

According to the newspaper’s data, in Finnpanel’s national radio survey listener numbers this fall, Nova’s morning broadcast has surpassed Aamulypsy on all days of the week.

Morning milking has been shown since 2006. During 2012, the program was on hiatus.

Media researcher and university lecturer at the University of Tampere Marko Ala-Fossi says that Aamulypsy was a pioneer in the Finnish radio field.

– In the beginning, Aamulypsy was quite an exceptional phenomenon in the field of Finnish commercial radio, because it was talked about so much. Until then, the presenter’s long speaking periods had been considered an outright risk, Ala-Fossi tells Helsingin Sanomat.

Radio Nova is also the most listened to commercial radio channel in Finland in terms of total listenership. The most listened to channel in Finland is Yle Radio Suomi.
