More train strikes canceled for the time being: staff receive more than 9 percent more wages

It seems to be finished with strikes by train staff for the time being. The NS and the trade unions have reached an agreement for an improved collective labor agreement. Union members still have to accept the improved labor agreements.

The unions and the NS have agreed a wage increase of 9.25 percent, which will be spread over the next year and a half, reports the NOS. In addition, staff will receive a payment of one thousand euros twice next year, in January and July.

Last Thursday reported trade union FNV that there was as yet no prospect of good collective labor agreements and the planned actions would continue. That message related to the second relay strike, which started last Friday in the west and north-west regions – including North Holland.

Because, according to the NS, the regional strike disrupted the entire timetable in the entire province, the company decided not to run trains throughout the country on the Utrecht – Schiphol route. The collective labor agreement will put an end to the strikes of next Tuesday and Thursday.

At the end of August, the first series of relay strikes took place. These strikes led, among other things, to: big crowds on the road.

Although the strikes were announced well in advance, some travelers had let yourself be surprisedas became apparent when NH Nieuws went to take a look at the almost extinct stations.
