More than one in eight Dutch people leave government bills unpaid: ‘Accept that not everything will be returned’

Nearly two million Dutch people, more than one in eight adults, are in arrears with the government. This concerns the Tax Authorities, the CJIB or DUO and three other authorities. The number of debtors is declining, but the debts that remain are higher and persistent, Statistics Netherlands reports.
