More than 400 Belgians active in the Israeli army, but for the time being only one judicial investigation

There is one judicial investigation into a Belgian-Israeli national serving in the Israeli army and suspected of violations of international law in the Gaza Strip. This is what Minister of Justice Annelies Verlinden (CD&V) replied in Parliament to a question from Vooruit MP Achraf El Yakhloufi. However, according to the British research website ‘Declassified UK’, 471 Belgians (with dual or multiple nationality) were active in the Israeli army in March last year. El Yakhloufi asks Verlinden to increase the pressure.
