The Bundestag has decided to reform the product safety law, which is intended to protect consumers from dangerous machines and toys.

Among other things, this stipulates that manufacturers must include safety instructions in German with their products. In addition, online retailers are obliged to remove dangerous goods from their portals or to provide them with an express warning.

CDU MP Lars Ehm said that these regulations would prevent reputable companies from being displaced by cheap imports. The AfD, which voted against the law together with the Greens, complained about excessive bureaucracy and excessive fines at the expense of medium-sized businesses.
