“The total number of training movements remains at 20,000, but we have more freedom to play with the larger equipment,” says spokesperson Tom Rutsaert. “We are an important training airport and we want to continue to do so in the future.”
There would also be an increasing demand from airlines to practice and it also brings in money for the airport.
The permit has also been relaxed for night flights, but the airport emphasizes that these are exceptions.
