The Matthäus Passion performed semi-scenically

The Luthers Bach Ensemble performs both Saturday if Sunday in the Akerk in Groningen a semi-scenic performance of Bach’s St Matthew Passion † These two performances are the latest in a series of performances throughout the country. In this semi-scenic performance, the emphasis is more on the expressive and emotional aspects of the St Matthew Passion.

In this presentation by the Luthers Bach Ensemble, the soloists and the choir wear everyday clothes and sing by heart. This increases the interaction between the singers themselves and with the audience. Gestures and movements underline the drama of passion.

Groningen – Akerk, Sat 7.30 pm and Sun 2.30 pm, 35 euros

Imagination as the last lifeline

The Flemish-Dutch cabaret duo Grof Geschud is coming to New Amsterdam tomorrow for a performance. Lander Severins and Myrthe van Velden bring parts of their new program Brood , with which they will be touring from April. The two know each other from the Theater Academy in Den Bosch, where they graduated with the highest distinction.

In brood As an audience, you witness a hilarious and moving attempt by ex-lovers to free themselves from the crushing fear of being abandoned. An attempt that gets a thousand images in stories, numbers and scenes. Imagination as the last life preserver. Before the break, guest comedian Tijmen van Barneveld, who graduated in 2019, will play his program Arvid

The impossible squared

Two seasons ago, mentalist duo Rob & Emiel played for the first time in De Molenberg in Delfzijl and the audience was completely captivated by their magical show. Tomorrow they will be back on the shelves, but with a new performance: From Houdini to Copperfield

Inspired by their illustrious predecessors, the duo mix magic, illusion and experimentation with other people’s thoughts into a show full of seemingly impossible things. With their magic acts and original finds they surprise their audience from one surprise to the next. From sleight of hand to real mind fucks : it will all pass.

Delfzijl – De Molenberg, Friday 20.15, 19 euros

Roué Verveer’s own view of the world

Roué Verveer is a comedian who sees no problems in anything, makes jokes about it and thus destroys every room. It is not for nothing that Verveer has been one of the big boys in cabaret country for years. This season he will be in Dutch theaters with his ninth full-length cabaret show.

In Zo Good As New, Verveer gives his own view of the world in an original and funny way † Nothing crazy, just the way you’re used to him: optimistic, cheerful and hilarious. Brace yourself for an almost new dose of razor-sharp humor, clever improvisations, merciless self-mockery and a critical note here and there.

Hoogezand – Wake Theater, Fri 8.15 pm, 23.50 euros
