Duo program on the theme of Paris
There is music again in Museum Vosbergen. On Saturday evening at 8 p.m., two acclaimed and internationally renowned artists will provide the first musical sounds of 2022 in the museum’s concert hall. Oboist Pauline Austria and guitarist Enno Voorhorst present a duo program on the theme Paris.
Not only well-known French names such as Erik Satie and George Brassens are discussed, but also, for example, Napoléon Coste, the most important guitar virtuoso at the beginning of the 19th century, when the ‘guitaromania’ was raging in Paris. Many big names came to Paris from abroad to get involved in the cultural activity of the city in the early 1900s. For example, what did the most famous Brazilian composer Villa-Lobos do there for years? And why did tango king Astor Piazzolla come over from Argentina? Answers to those questions and much more await the audience at this concert.

art of life
In the context of the exhibition Viva la Frida in the Drents Museum, Garage TDI’s preparatory course is making a theatrical route through Assen this spring, inspired by the life course of Frida Kahlo, entitled: Art of life.
Led by three makers (Céline Hoex, Laurien van Rijswijk and Ivana Diboune), the players of the preliminary training make three performances. The route is shaped by a photo exhibition by Yolanda Visser. Frida Kahlo painted 55 self-portraits in which she explored her own identity. Under the direction of director Céline Hoex, the players of the preliminary training make their own theatrical self-portrait. Who are they inside and out? In church, they then say yes to themselves and pledge eternal loyalty to themselves. Inspired by the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos, the players, together with maker Laurien van Rijswijk, create a musical performance in which they search for stories of their own ancestors.
Art of Life is a theatrical route through the life of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. Be surprised by three different performances on 25 or 26 March. Tickets are available at garagetdi.nl.
Assen – Center, Fri 8 pm and Sat 2.30 pm and 8 pm, 12.50 euros, up to and including 21 years 9 euros
