More corona cases among German handball players

Further corona infections in the German national handball team: After the end of the European Championships in Slovenia and Hungary, backcourt player Fabian Wiede and goalkeeping coach Mattias Andersson tested positive for the corona virus on their return. This was announced by the German Handball Federation (DHB) on Thursday.

This increases the number of infections in the national team in connection with the European Championship to 18.

As the DHB also announced, Marcel Schiller, Sebastian Heymann, Timo Kastening and Lukas Mertens were able to end their quarantine with negative tests. Despite the many failures, the German team took seventh place at the European Championships.
