Hans Klok is worried about increasing homophobia in our country. The illusionist thinks it is mainly due to immigration. “That’s just because we throw too many cultures in one country.”
Hans Klok ensures that gay acceptance is under pressure in the Netherlands. Of the young people in the Amsterdam region 43 percent Homosexuality normal, according to figures from the GGD Amsterdam. An extremely worrying low percentage, says Hans. “Homohaat has become very large again.”
Cage with lions
According to Hans, the speed at which the Netherlands slides is enormous. “We were the Gay Capital of the world twenty years ago. People all dive back into the closet and so on. That should not continue for ten years,” he says in the online talk show from Tim Douwsma.
How is that according to Hans? “That is just because we throw too many cultures in one country. That is just the case. You can’t put a sheep in a cage with lions. Some things don’t work together.”
Foreigners
The foreigners must adapt to the Dutch, says Hans. “I have been the foreigner in a country so often. Then I have to adapt to the country and that must be arranged well.”
It is a pity that politics does not dare to intervene, he says. “We have had very weak politics in recent years. We always had to be able to do everything and now we have the problem.”
Pim Fortuyn
We could have seen it coming for a long time, says Hans. “Pim Fortuyn said it 23 years ago. We called this ourselves over us and now people still want to steer it in the right direction.”
And now? “All my friends go abroad and elsewhere. People no longer want to live here. That is also very bad. Everyone wants to emigrate.”
