Train traffic between Antwerp South and Boom has been halted in both directions since half past four after a collision. A moped rider was hit by a train near the level crossing in Hoboken.

The accident occurred on the railway line to Puurs, at the Kapelstraat level crossing in Hoboken. The train’s passengers were evacuated.
The moped rider survived the collision and was injured, but the severity of his injuries is not yet known.
The incident disrupted train traffic between Antwerp South and Boom. The NMBS provides replacement buses. Trains are diverted locally if possible. It is unclear how long the disruption will last.
