That worked! Atlético Madrid publicly made fun of FC Barcelona with some social media posts on Friday. The low blow is no coincidence and has to do with the numerous transfer reports surrounding star striker Julián Álvarez. Transfer insider Fabrizio also got his fat off.

Atlético Madrid’s social media team caused a stir on Friday with a series of posts, garnering widespread support from thousands of fans.

In total, the Madrilenians published three pictures showing Barca stars Lamine Yamal, Pedri and Raphina – all three in Atlético jerseys. Underneath each picture was the famous “Here We Go” from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who usually uses this saying to announce a fixed deal.

In the case of Julián Álvarez, Romano was apparently wrong so often and so far that Atlético is now publicly defending himself. All with a healthy dose of humor.

Concert tickets and sunflower seeds for Yamal

“HERE WE GO! We have sent a fax with our offer for the player transfer: four tickets for tomorrow’s Bad Bunny concert, an annual subscription to the ‘ABC’ and a bag of sunflower seeds. We are eagerly awaiting the answer in order to prepare our announcement post,” wrote the Madrilenians alongside the picture in which Yamal can be seen in their jersey.

Regarding the post with the picture of Pedri in the Atlético jersey, they wrote: “We have a problem for this second offer. We have run out of tickets for the concert tomorrow, so we are improving the offer to six tickets for the concert on Sunday.”

About Palhina’s picture it was said: “We’re throwing the idea out the window: the player is coming on loan for a season, in return we’re letting Tom Ford and Smith go, with no option to buy. An offer you can’t refuse.” A few weeks ago, President Enrique Cerezo inexplicably dropped the names Tom Ford and Smith in an interview as Atlético players. They don’t exist.

Atlético had announced the posts in advance with the words: “In a few minutes we will publish a statement on a relevant matter that is causing a lot of misinformation.”

“It took us five minutes to create the fake posts”

The club had already indicated to “AS” on Thursday that Barca’s behavior would have consequences. “We’re back after months of lies, half-truths and fabricated news like buying a house [von Álvarez] in Barcelona or absurd questions to our players,” said a spokesman to FC Barcelona and also Romando, who has regularly reported in recent weeks about Barca offers made and rejected for Álvarez.

On Friday, the Madrilenians concluded: “And remember: it took us five minutes to create the fake posts. We live in a time in which reality can be distorted. Don’t believe everything you see… especially when it has to do with Barca.”
