Monique Westenberg, the lover of André Hazes Jr., was robbed last night in central London. The perpetrator struck in the West End entertainment district. “In front of the theater.”
The year ends terribly for André Hazes Jr. and Monique Westenberg. They had given themselves and their son a very expensive trip to London for the last days of the year, but on the very first day things went incredibly wrong. The low point? Monique is mercilessly robbed in the West End.
Canceled
The trip to London was extremely difficult yesterday. Their flight was scheduled to depart from Amsterdam at 9:30 am. “I thought: oh man, an hour and a half in advance is fine, so we arrive, drop the suitcases and have to go through security… I didn’t expect that, but of course it’s outside Europe, super stupid,” says André on Instagram.
And then? “Okay, so that makes running and running, not normal. We arrive at the gate and gate closed: ‘You’re too late.’ Ah, shit, K. So we go to one of those transfer desks, book the next flight and suddenly everyone gets off the plane: the flight was cancelled. So we were too late, but it was still cancelled.”
Via Milan
André wanted to go to London at all costs. “Okay, so we’re at the transfer desk: ‘No flights tomorrow.’ Totally shitty. I say: then we’ll go somewhere else. Then the woman says: ‘Hey, there is availability, but via Milan.’ Okay… So we are in Milan, we had the connection, an hour delay, fine.”
“We’re finally on the plane to London and then: ‘We missed our slot and we have to join the back.’ Another 45-minute wait on the plane. Yeah… Just the whole day is over. I worked last night, I slept a few hours. I think: we’ll have it nice and early, I do that for the family, but the day is just gone.”
Robbed
Once in London, via Milan, André is in for another nasty surprise. “To make matters worse, the suitcases have not arrived, so they are still in Amsterdam and if I understand correctly, they are now being flown to England. I don’t even have clean underwear! But we make the best of it.”
In the evening, the family went to the musical The Lion King in the West End theater district and Monique was robbed there. “You won’t believe it… Monique’s phone is stolen from her pocket in front of the theater. And during the show someone faints, causing the show to be stopped for a while. What a day.”
Monique’s iPhone theft is no surprise: it happened in London every ten minutes a cell phone stolen.
Tuk tuk
After the musical, the family got into a pedicab. “As a nice ending to the day: one of those Tuktuk things, you have to travel very short distances with them. I thought I was smart to take that thing from the theater to the hotel, because then you get ahead of everything. Then the taxi driver stopped next to us: ‘I hope you made a good appointment with him.’”
“I think: yes, okay, it will be a bit high, but fine, I just want to go to bed. 252 pounds! And have a discussion with the gentleman! We are now entering the hotel. It’s done. I’m completely done with it.”
One thing is certain: somewhere on a bedside table in Torremolinos there is a completely battered voodoo doll…
