Monique des Bouvrie does not see herself as a kind of Rachel Hazes

Monique des Bouvrie doesn’t understand why critics are suddenly comparing her to throwback rauncher Rachel Hazes. “What do they mean? I can’t agree with that at all.”

Anyone who thought that the Hazesjes are the only ones with inheritance issues has not yet seen Jan des Bouvrie’s surviving relatives arguing with each other. What a hornet’s nest. Jan’s two eldest descendants have taken his widow Monique des Bouvrie to court. She would simply eat up that entire inheritance.

Rachel de Bouvrie

Are we dealing with the Rachel Hazes of the interior design world here? Well, don’t let her hear it. “Oh, I didn’t read that. I don’t read all that kind of stuff,” she responds Weekend. “But what do they mean? Because I can’t find myself in that.”

She continues: “You know what the pity is, people think they know everything, like in this case how the whole inheritance works. Only, they don’t know that. I don’t want to elaborate on it or start mud-fighting in the media, because I think this should be kept private. Whatever. I know what it’s like!”

Why Natasha?

Just like Rachel, Monique also does very strange things. She now also drags Natasja Froger along in all her misery. The woman with the eternally worried face has gone along to the lawsuit about the inheritance issue, while that is simply a private matter. And Jan’s eldest daughter, Nicole, is really quite pissed about that.

Why did Natasja have to come along? Monique: “Because Natas has been a very good friend of mine for a long time. Friends are there to support you at all times. She always helps me. I have some really good friends who are there in good times and bad, and she is one of them.”

Very nasty

That Monique seems so sweet and fun, but she is quite fiery about this issue. She can also be very nasty at work, she admits. “I can then become very nasty. But that is normal, because I am in a process and I want to be perfect.”

She concludes: “I will be short and concise. It has to be quick. I can really go ‘bam, bam, bam’.”
