For a long time it looked after a farewell to the “Reds”. Now the talks still led to success. The Egyptian remains loyal to his club.
Mohamed Salah has extended his contract with Liverpool FC. The traditional English club announced this on Friday, without calling details about the duration of the contract.
The 33-year-old has been playing for the “Reds” since 2017, has scored 27 goals so far in the current season and thus leads the scorer list of the Premier League.
The superstar says about his contract extension: “Of course I’m very happy. We now have a great team. We also had a great team beforehand. But I signed because I think we have the chance to win other trophies.” Above all, the championship at the end of this season. Liverpool is currently leading the table with eleven points ahead of chasing Arsenal in seven outstanding games.
Salah already won the Champions League (2018/19) with the “Reds” and became English champion (19/20). He also won the English super cup and the league cup with the Liverpool FC.
So far, the wing player, who came from AS Rome to the Anfield Road eight years ago, has completed 394 games for the club. He scored 243 goals and prepared 111 and already made it to legend status among fans.
He hoped that many games will be added. “It’s great, I had my best years here. I played for eight years, hopefully it will be ten. I enjoy my life here, enjoy my football,” continued Salah.
It had sounded different last November. At that time, the striker spoke openly about farewell because he did not feel sufficiently valued by the Liverpool bosses. “We have almost December and I have not yet received any offers to stay in the club. I’m probably more gone than I stay,” said Salah back then. “I’m disappointed, but we’ll see,” he pushed. Now both sides came together.
