Model railway paradise: train-o-philes can indulge themselves in Alkmaar

Alkmaar was the epicenter of model railway trains this weekend. Train enthusiasts could marvel at their hobby at the eleventh edition of the North Holland Model Railway Days and of course expand their own collection. This weekend also had a first: the first foreign participant, from Belgium.

After two years of absence due to corona, the school building of the OSG Willem Blaeu was full of everything that has anything to do with model trains. All sizes of miniature trains were enjoyed as they travel through lovingly landscaped railway landscapes.

But it was also possible to trade on the exchange. You can of course spend several monthly salaries on the train hobby, but you don’t have to. “Certainly at a fair like this you can get your stuff quite cheaply,” says organizer Mario Jonkhart. “You can make it as expensive as you want.”
