Liverpool jumped out to a decisive 3–0 lead in the opening period of the West Ham match.

Luis Diaz opened the visitors’ goal account after half an hour of play. The Colombian got to the pinball first and shot it from ten meters into the bottom corner of the Hammers goal.

The host team still sounded the alarm with an equaliser, when Mohammed Kudus bombed the game tool into the post, but immediately from the next attack Cody Gakpo doubled Liverpool’s lead Mo Salah’s input.

Salah himself shot the 0-3 break numbers from the edge of the penalty area just before the half-time whistle. It was the Egyptian’s 20th goal of the season in all competitions. He has now reached the milestone in eight consecutive seasons, a new Liverpool record.

If Liverpool does not collapse in the second period, it will increase its league lead to eight points again. It also has one less game played than second-placed Nottingham Forest.

The second period of the match starts around 20:17 with Liverpool’s 3–0 lead.
