MM6 Maison Margiela summoned the night in Florence and showed how versatile black can be.

The avant-garde brand was a guest at the current edition of the men’s fashion fair Pitti Uomo on Wednesday evening and presented its menswear collection. The brand particularly relied on various black nuances, which were complemented by selected pieces in shiny blue, purple and gray. Together, the color palette looked like a powerful sunset, which could also be seen in Florence that evening.

The straightforward collection, which featured outerwear pieces such as long coats and bomber jackets, particularly focused on playing with different materials. Faux mink and denim met plasticized knits as well as rubberized and taped textures that reflected the light of the spotlights.

“The idea of the wardrobe encourages a systematic iteration of items, repeating pieces in different materials and finishes, suggesting different uses, occasions, types and shades of masculinity,” MM6 shared on Wednesday.
