Transfer market has updated the market values of 801 players of the North American Major League Soccer and recorded a significant change at the top: The largest star of the Lionel Messi, Lionel Messi, falls back in the market value ranking, which he divides from now on with new Atlanta Emmanuel Latte Lath. The injured Riqui Puig from Los Angeles Galaxy now linger on the throne, whose value of 20 million euros remains untouched. While his team-mate Marco Reus is devalued for the fourth time in a row, three German professionals, including ex-Schalke Timo Baumgartl, have an easy plus.
For the 29 -year -old central defender from St. Louis City, it goes up 150,000 to 600,000 euros. Nalt Lake Lake City’s plus in the amount of 100,000 euros, the biggest leap from a German professional is available at the native of Munich Morris Duggan, who plays ten games for Minnesota United (an assist) and for which it goes up to 200,000 to now 500,000 euros.
While the market values of the two most valuable German Hany Mukhtar (Nashville, 6 million) and Kai Wagner (Philadelphia, 5 million), as well as those of Baumgartl’s team -mate Marcel Hartel and Cedric Teuchert, will remain the same, St. Louis’ Eduard Löwen (three scorers) will now be devalued to a million euros. Six goal participations in eleven games for Galaxy could not prevent the next devaluation of the now 36-year-old Reus, for which it goes down by 500,000 euros as well as for Houston’s Lawrence Ennali-both are from now on to EUR 2 million.
With a decline of two million euros to 18 million euros, Messi is now sharing second place in the market value ranking with Atlanta United’s striker Latte Lath, the value of which does not change in the course of the update. “Despite his age, Messi continues to perform consistently good performances this season,” says transfer market data administrator North America Dominic Becker. “But of course you shouldn’t ignore your age. With a market value of 18 million, despite the downgrading, he is still the most expensive player in his age.” For players aged 34, Messi is now in second place behind Antoine Griezmann, three years younger and just ahead of Robert Lewandowski.
In fact, Inter Miami was not as constant as in the previous year. The Beckham Club, which is currently in third place in Eastern Conference, lost the Vancouver Whitecaps in the semi-finals of the Concacaf Champions Cup. As a result of the latest development, the market values of Federico Redondo (-1.5 million to 5 million), Luis Suárez (-200 tsd. To 1.8 million), Jordi Alba (-300 thousand to 1.5 million), David Martínez (-300 thousand to 1.2 million), Fafà Picault (-100 TSD. on 400,000), Rocco Ríos Novo and Leo Afonso (both -100 thousand to 300 thousand).
MLS update: Vancouver Whitecaps benefit from the Concacaf run
Although the whitecaps lost 0: 5 against Cruz Azul in the final, the positive run in the Concacaf Champions Cup also had an impact on the squad value, which increases by EUR 3.2 million – the biggest plus. A player who stood out in this course was Brian White, explains Becker. “White is currently playing a really strong season. His previous goals have secured the Whitecaps into the CCL final, and they are unchallenged in first place in the MLS Western Conference. Thanks to these services, he has also secured the return to the USMNT.” After White’s market value rose from EUR 3.5 to 4.5 million euros in March, this will also go up to a further 500,000 to now, due to the balance of 15 goals from 22 games from 22 games.
In the Western Conference, San Diego FC ranks just behind the aspiring Whitecaps – the youngest newcomer to the MLS scored 30 points from the first 17 games. One of the main reasons for San Diego’s excellent start to the season is the Danish winger Anders Dreyer. “It is absolutely remarkable how Dreyer settled in the MLS. After we devalued it in April due to the relatively low transfer fee, it is now going up again due to his strong performance. His 13 goals in 17 games for San Diego speak for themselves.”
While Dreyer’s value increases by 12.5 percent from 8 to 9 million, teammate Hirving Lozano is downgraded. “Unfortunately, Lozano’s good start to the season was interrupted by a new muscle injury. He has been fit again since the sixth matchday and has performed well since then. But Lozano will soon be 30, so we decided to downgrade due to his age,” said Becker. The market value of the Mexican falls from 12 million to 10 million euros.
This is how the transfer market market values work
The transfer market market values are taken into account, taking into account various pricing models and a strong inclusion of the transfer market community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market values are not to be equated with the transfer sums actually paid.
The goal is not to predict a price, but an expectation value. When collecting the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational framework conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples are listed here. Transfer market does not use algorithm (for detailed market value definition).
