Hundreds of places gone
Since this week, P+R site Zeeburg 1, good for 202 parking spaces, has been Closed. In Noord, parking spaces will also disappear at P+R Noord. The total will increase from 440 places to 220 in 2026. The municipality has also indicated that it will eventually close the P+R at Boven ‘t IJ.
Van der Horst also said that she supports the elimination of the P+R places. She called it ‘not so car-free at all’ to ‘encourage’ people to come to Amsterdam by car.
