With a bit of goodwill he got the key. He thought he could cleverly avoid a months-long renovation by contacting the TV program The Great Renovation. That dream scenario quickly fell apart. “You have to pay the costs yourself and that would amount to €200,000. I had half in mind. So I had no choice but to roll up my sleeves.”
