Tiia Aalto and Medya Elek have realized that love belongs to everyone. However, the beginning of the relationship was not easy as women’s families have not always accepted lesbian conditions.
It was small that Miss Finland’s first inheritance princess Tiia Aalto24, and Medya Elek25, would not have met each other.
In April 2024, Tiia spent a traditional “girls’ evening” with her friend for dinner. Medya had a long working day behind her. Both of them had been invited to a birthday party, but fatigue weighed.
Despite their fatigue, they popped at the party. That night they met the love of their lives, each other.

The couple think it was love at first glance. Tiia did not get Medya away from her mind, but she just wondered about her chances of getting to know the woman better. Medya, who is usually word -ready and good with people, behaved in front of Tiia in the opposite way.
– I was really shy and it was because of Tiia. It felt like my legs and hands were crossed and I couldn’t speak before him, Medya remembers looking at her girlfriend’s eyes.
– Before that evening, I thought there was no love at first glance. However, this proved that at first glance you can fall in love. This has been a turning point in my life, Medya continues.
Communication continued as a likes and a week later they met again in the nightclub. By then, both of them realized that they had found the right one.
However, the road to this point has not been easy. Tiia and Medya have had to hide in the innermost for years before their relationship.
“Now is enough”
Tiia told her friends about her sexual orientation as early as her teenage, but her family only a few years ago. He has received a Christian education, which thinks that relationships are only a matter between a woman and a man.
Today, the Tiia family is a thing with it, and Medya gets along well with the Tiia family.
– I’m closer to my mother than ever. I was afraid my mother would receive my lesbian and if I have a girlfriend, could they ever meet. The end result was that my mother and Medya are almost the best friends and play in the middle of the voice, Tiia laughs.

The Medya family comes from the Middle East, where the relationship between the same sex is not good. Medya did not tell her family or relatives about her lesbian for over 20 years.
He finally told his parents last summer.
– I felt like enough now. I didn’t want to hide myself or my relationship with anyone, even from my family. The reaction was what it was, but luckily Tiia was supported by me, Medya opens.
– Fortunately, now everything is fine, but it takes time to deal with it. Tiia and my parents haven’t met yet, but hopefully it will come, he continues.

Tiia and Medya find it strange that they still have to face inappropriate behavior because of their sexual orientation. The fact that they can’t do the same things as heterosexuals seems unfair.
– We have had to avoid places where my relatives could move. I have been scared of what if they see me in hand with a woman, Medya says.
Masculine woman
Last fall, Tiia and Medya started producing content for social media. Tiia says the feedback was positive, although there are also gravel sounds.
– We also get comments that describe our relationship as a disgust and sick.

During the past spring, Medya posted a video of masculine femininity on her Tiktok channel. So far, the video has collected more than 50 thousand impressions. Medya has received a lot of comments that address her appearance and masculinity.
– I really don’t let it discourage me. As a child, I was really boyish and I was bullied. Bullying influenced me a lot and I wonder if I can’t be as I am. I was a child of the age that it affected me and in junior high I dressed much more feminine.
A few years ago, Medya finally decided to be himself. The change empowered.
– My brother hadn’t seen me for a year and we went for lunch together. He said, “I’m not used to this style, but you look so good.” It felt great.

Tiia and Medya are frustrated with the situation.
– Masculinity is not as great as a man. Neither of our relationship is a man, we are both women, Medya says stagnant.
– There are two women in this regard. It feels like we share a lot of masculine and feminine energy. Although I am more feminine and Medya masculine in appearance, I have a lot of masculine energy. We are in balance, Tiia continues.
However, there is also a lot of good in the world.
The Helsinki Pride procession on June 28 is an empowering event where Tiia and Medya marched with tens of thousands of Finns for human rights.
-Pride day is emotional and it evokes a lot of different thoughts, but it is a particular empowering joy. We want to be encouraging others and show that you can be your own self, Tiia says.
– Celebration, freedom and love so that it is conveyed not only to minority people, but to everyone, Medya adds.
In early June, Tiia and Medya released a joy news. Medya wiggles Tiia on the shore of Lake Como in Italy.
Tiia tells Iltalehti the details of “the marriage of her dreams”. Medya planned a day trip for the couple for the Villa del Balbianello villa. There was a photographer waiting for a memorable moment on the tape.
– Medya had agreed with the photographer that we would see a wool with the columns where Medya would ask the photographer to take us together on the phone. The photographer started to video. I thought we were taking pictures until suddenly Medya knelt in front of me, Tiia times events.
– We both started crying and I don’t remember what Medya said to me because I was just in the shock, he continues happily.
