Pole vaulter Alysha Newman has been banned for 20 months for anti-doping test reporting violations. The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) announced this on Friday.
The ban for the bronze medalist at the Olympic Games in Paris applies retroactively from December 3rd of last year, “the results from August 23rd, 2025 will be canceled,” wrote the AIU.
The 31-year-old Canadian had already been temporarily banned on February 3rd for three violations of the reporting requirement within a period of twelve months. Newman last took part in a competition around a year ago at the Diamond League meeting in Rabat.
