Matilda Wirtavuori is a tough nipple. Wirtavuori goes to get the profit of the Fastest Nipple competition, but with a twinkle in the eye.
The reigning Miss Finland Matilda Wirtavuori is a familiar sight during the Rauma Lace Week. Wirtavuori’s grandparents live in Rauma, and his mother also comes from there.
In 2023, Wirtavuori participated in the Rauma Lace and was crowned as the first inheritance princess.
One of the program numbers in the Lace Week is the annual fastest nipple competition. In the competition, participants, as their name implies, nip lace. The competition is also familiar to Miss Wirtavuori.
Wirtavuori got to know the secrets of nipple two years ago. This year he will participate in the Fastest Nipple competition for the third time. Matilda Wirtavuori’s home album
Wirtavuori says he got acquainted with the nipple two years ago. Lace candidates were introduced to the secrets of the Cultural House Poselli and the winner of the mission competition participated in the nipple competition.
-We were also enthusiastic about the nipple with the second inheritance princess and we were both really competitive, so we also thought about participating in the Fastest Nipple competition. I came fourth then, Wirtavuori recalls to Iltalehti.
“I already made a record for all the lace, so I decided to come again the following year and get the prize position for myself,” he continues.
Goals high
Last year, Wirtavuori achieved its goal not only in the Miss Finland competition but also in the nipple. He finished third in the fastest nipple.
Wirtavuori admits, laughing that this year he is aiming for a profit for the nipple race.
– I saw the familiar ladies during enrollment. They all said they encouraged me to win: “Non a lot and long. Now you go to win that competition,” Wirtavuori repeated the words of the ladies.
Handicrafts are familiar to Wirtavuori. He says he knit wool socks every year for his grandfather. Maintenance of clothes with a sewing machine is also familiar to Wirtavuori.
According to Wirtavuori, nippleing the lace requires special attention and tranquility. This is also his tactics in the Friday nipple competition.
– You have to concentrate a lot and don’t go to the bow. If you go too fast, the nipples, or wooden needles, will go into the knot. Calm, confident, focusing all the time. Although this is a bit like that “Miss Finnish I’m going to nip”, I still go to compete seriously, Wirtavuori says in the eye of the eye.
The rule of the competition is that the winner is no longer allowed to participate in the competition. Wirtavuori is seeking a profit, so the competition may be the last to be.
– Maybe the third time really says!
There is enough singing gigs
Wirtavuori has had enough program for many days during the lace week. On Wednesday and Thursday, Miss Finland made singing gigs in Rauma.
On Thursday, there were almost a thousand people in the finals of the Latimissi competition. Wirtavuori says he has never sung in front of such a large audience.
– I was really excited! I jumped on a backpacker and shook my hands as I tried to get the excitement. The performance was really nice and the audience welcomed me well, Wirtavuori describes.
– I noticed that I have also developed as a performer on the singing side when I have performed so much during the year. I have found liberation and I no longer squeeze or be afraid of the stage in the same way, he continues.

Wirtavuori is grateful that he has also been able to do singing gigs with the mission. The artist has been Wirtavuori’s longest dream profession.
– So far it has been nice to do gigs like this. I think this is going under its own weight, but I would really be awesome that this would be at least one part of my career, Wirtavuori sums up.
After the lace week, Wirtavuori heads back to his home in Helsinki. There will be work on walking coaching and judging the Miss Tampere competition. In August, the finalists of the Miss Finland competition will also be selected. Wirtavuori will hand over its crown to the new Miss Finland in Espoo in September.
