Injured and beaten police officers, a stranger with a severe neck injury, two arrests at local controls – sad everyday life in the capital. Every day anew.
A log:
► 7.30 p.m., Wedding: Police officers drive their police car on patrol. At the corner of Müllerstraße and Lynarstraße – directly at the S-Bahn and U-Bahn station in Wedding – a bleeding man suddenly stumbles onto the road. He collapses. With a deep knife wound in the neck.
Officers provide first aid until the ambulance arrives. And probably save the victim’s life. It comes to the hospital, is operated on. “The man could not be identified because he had no identification papers with him and could not be questioned,” says a police spokesman.
► Just two hours later, plainclothes police officers are on the move at Alexanderplatz. There, a Moldovan (29) beats up a compatriot (32). When the officers arrest the younger man, the victim and a compatriot (35) suddenly turn against the officers. They beat a policeman with their fists and try to free their buddy.
The 32-year-old pulls the lawman’s arm so hard that his shoulder joint dislocates. Other forces intervene and arrest the highly aggressive men. Another police officer suffered leg injuries. The drunken attackers – all about one per mille – are now being investigated, among other things, for dangerous bodily harm.
► Change of scene: The police and public order office are out and about in Neukölln bars for several hours on Friday evening. Administrative offenses are punished, by chance the officials grab a man wanted with an arrest warrant. The emergency services discover a large amount of cash and a forbidden knife in the rented Smart of the intensive offender. A case for the prosecutor.

The Berlin boss of the German police union (DpolG) Bodo Pfalzgraf knows about the everyday dangers for his colleagues. And is shocked by the incident at Alexanderplatz:
“This is a disgusting assassination attempt on our forces. I hope the perpetrators get their just punishment. Our thoughts are with the injured colleagues and their families.”
