In the past, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment (SZW) unlawfully processed personal data in investigations into Salafism and related topics. Persons whose contact details are known are actively informed about the processing of their data.
In some investigations into persons, organizations and networks within Muslim communities, personal data has been processed without informing those involved and without a legal basis for this. Minister Van Gennip apologized for this and informed the House of Representatives about the measures taken to restore trust between the government and Muslim communities.
